Marisa Yeaman Dip FHS
Marisa Yeaman is known to some, for her decades of work as a singer songwriter, but behind the songs also beats the heart of an historian. Marisa has been researching the origins of her own family for decades, tracing those stories deep into the 16th century, and across the world from Flanders and Scotland to Australia. Inevitably, this path has led others to seek her help uncovering their family stories, and in turn, to Marisa directing around 30 years of research experience into formal qualifications. Marisa's main research focuses include all of Australia, Perthshire and Angus regions in Scotland (Carse of Gowrie), England, and reading early handwriting (Paleography). Marisa holds a Diploma of Family Historical Studies with the Society of Australian Genealogists.
During 2018 Marisa was a researcher on The Mc Manus (Dundee Art Gallery and Museum), Scotland, 168 Subscribers Project to mark the museum's 150th Anniversary. She now lives in rural France, but can help you discover your family history wherever you are located.
She has recently published her first book, Across that far horizon - The Yeaman family in Australia.
